I love most all things pumpkin. This bread is another scrumptious take on pumpkin bread with the hint of tangy cream cheese and a cinnamon sugar topping. I hope you like it.
Pumpkin Cream Cheese Swirl Bread
Ingredients
Pecan Streusel:
- 6 Tbsp Butter, cold
- 1/2 cup Flour
- 1/2 cup Pecan, chopped
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
Cream Cheese Mixture:
- 6 oz Cream Cheese, room temp
- 1 Egg, room temp
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 2 tsp Maple Syrup
Pumpkin Bread:
- 1 1/2 cup Flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4-1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp Ginger
- 1/4 tsp Cloves
- 4 Tbls Butter, room temp
- 2/3 cup Sugar
- 1 Egg, room temp
- 1 1/4 cup Pumpkin Puree
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream or Plain Full Fat Yogurt
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Directions
- Preheat oven 350
- Grease a 9×5 loaf pan
- In a bowl add in the flour, brown sugar and salt. Chop the pecans. Add the butter, sliced. With a pastry cutter cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles rough sand or until it comes together when pressed.
- In another bowl add the cream cheese, egg, vanilla and maple syrup. With a hand mixer blend together until thoroughly mixed together.
- In another bowl add the dry ingredients – flour, baking powder and baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves. In a mixer bowl, with the paddle attachment, add the butter and mix until creamy. Add in the sugar and mix together. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until fully incorporated. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix slowly until just incorporated.
- Add half of the batter to the greased loaf pan and smooth evenly out. Spoon the cream cheese batter onto the batter until evenly distributed. Add the half (more or less) of pecan streusel on top and gently press down. Add the remaining batter on top and evenly smooth out. Add the rest of the cinnamon streusel on top. If you have more streusel than you need or want, that is ok.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes. Check at 50 minutes. If an inserted toothpick comes out clean the bread is done. If not, continue to bake for another 5 minutes or so.
- Let cool before slicing.
Enjoy … gathering around the table with family and friends.
