Steak. I love it when I cook it right. A little salt and pepper, a quick sear on both sides and then let it rest a few minutes till done. While the steak is still warm, top it off with rosemary butter for extra flavor. The perfect steak is not to overcook it. I prefer medium rare. The hardest choice you’ll have to make is what kind of steak to cook or grill. The top steaks are probably Filet, New York, Rib Eye, T-bone steak or Top Sirloin.
Cast Iron Steak
Ingredients
- 2 Steaks
- Salt
- Coarse Pepper
- Olive oil or other high heat oil
- 4 Tbsp Butter, soften
- 1 – 2 Tbsp Blue Cheese
- Parsley, chopped
- Another Option:
- 4 Tbsp Butter, 1 Tbsp Garlic, minced, 2 tsp Rosemary (or other herb)
Directions
- Pat dry each steak
- Salt and Pepper each steak
- In a sauté pan heat pan on medium to high heat
- Sear each side of steak for about 5 minutes each
- Plate steaks and cover with foil and let the steaks rest. Steak will continue to cook for another few minutes to 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix together the butter and the blue cheese.
- Place a steak on a plate and a tsp of the blue cheese butter. Garnish with parsley.
