Steak.  I love it when I cook it right.  A little salt and pepper, a quick sear on both sides and then let it rest a few minutes till done.  While the steak is still warm, top it off with rosemary butter for extra flavor.  The perfect steak is not to overcook it.  I prefer medium rare.  The hardest choice you’ll have to make is what kind of steak to cook or grill.   The top steaks are probably Filet, New York, Rib Eye, T-bone steak or Top Sirloin.

Cast Iron Steak

Ingredients

  • 2 Steaks
  • Salt 
  • Coarse Pepper
  • Olive oil or other high heat oil
  • 4 Tbsp Butter, soften
  • 1 – 2 Tbsp Blue Cheese
  • Parsley, chopped
  • Another Option:
  • 4 Tbsp Butter, 1 Tbsp Garlic, minced, 2 tsp Rosemary (or other herb)

 

Directions

  • Pat dry each steak
  • Salt and Pepper each steak   
  • In a sauté pan heat pan on medium to high heat
  • Sear each side of steak for about 5 minutes each
  • Plate steaks and cover with foil and let the steaks rest.  Steak will continue to cook for another few minutes to 5 minutes.  
  • In a bowl, mix together the butter and the blue cheese.
  • Place a steak on a plate and a tsp of the blue cheese butter.  Garnish with parsley.
