I paired this salad with my  Pork Chops  with Butter Vodka Mushroom Sauce.  I’m not sure why or how I came up with this combination of a salad and dressing but I did.  I don’t particularly drink Bloody Marys but I wanted to come up with something different for cooking Pork Chops and this salad came to me.  It’s crisp and I like the combo of tomatoes, red onions and celery with a dressing that reminds me of a bloody mary.  Anyhoo, I hope you give this a try and like it as well.

‘Bloody Mary’ Salad

(adjust ingredients depending on how many people you are serving.)

  • One head of Romaine lettuce, chopped
  • Roma or Cherry tomatoes, sliced and either cut in quarters or halved
  • 1 Celery stalk, with leaves, sliced and leaves chopped.
  • ½ half (or less) Red Onion thinly sliced
  • Parsley, chopped

Dressing:  (adjust quantity depending of servings)

  • ¼ cup Olive Oil
  • 1-2 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest and juice
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ tsp Horseradish sauce
  • A couple dashes of Tabasco Sauce (in my video I didn’t have this so I used Sriracha sauce)

Directions

  • Prep your vegetables.  Chop the Romaine Lettuce, cup up tomatoes, celery stalk and leaves and slice red onion.
  • Plate on individual serving plates starting with romaine lettuce and then the remaining ingredients.
  • In a small bowl, combine all of the dressing ingredients and stir well until thoroughly combined.  Taste and add in any additional ingredients if needed.
  • Drizzle over salad and serve.  Garnish with Parsley

Enjoy ☺
