BIOGRAPHY
Amy J. Roloff
Amy may be little but she is making a BIG difference in the world in many ways.
Amy Roloff – a Business Woman, Inspirational Speaker, TV Star, Philanthropist, Farm Owner, Author, and Mom are just a few words that describe this one of a kind woman. Amy realized her passion for people and helping others reach their potential as a kid growing up to who she is today. Her challenges, experiences as a little person, success as a graduate with a BSBA from Central Michigan University in Personnel and Hospitality, an early education teacher, manager of a soccer club, youth team soccer coach, a hit TV show, and charity foundation are some ways that has led her to naturally inspire and touch people lives. She has made a difference and wants to know that others can make a difference too.
Amy’s desire to reach out and inspire others is reflected in her many speaking engagements to hundreds of audiences. She has spoken to various groups, colleges, universities, schools, non-profit organizations, business associations, women groups, and faith based groups. Her talks motivate and inspire individuals to overcome their challenges and to realize their success, value and potential as an individual. She continues to empower audiences by her stories, insights on topics and her personal touch. Many event planners are often surprised with the outcome and success of doubling the number of people attending their event and the increase in their fundraising efforts because Amy was the speaker. Amy co-authored Little People Big Values, a book that takes an inspirational look into her life and family. As an individual she will encourage audiences that the YOU that you are meant to be makes a difference.
In 2009 Amy founded, established, and continues to serve as president of the non-profit Amy Roloff Charity Foundation (ARCF). A foundation established to advocate, support, inspire and change kids lives including youth at risk, kids with special needs, and kids with other challenges. To date Amy has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through her own fundraising efforts and partnering with other organizations that educates and supports kids locally, nationally, and internationally. Some areas in reaching out to kids has been in foster care, teen moms, children hospitals, sports, and homeless kids. As a fundraiser and businesswoman Amy has developed several strategic relationships with local and global businesses such as Fred Meyer Store, Entercom, FedEx, and Portland Timbers. She continues to reach out to individuals, corporations, and other businesses that led her foundation to such tremendous success locally, nationally, and internationally. She also has served on the board of her children’s school, the board of Little People of America, a national organization that advocates for people with dwarfism, and other volunteer work.
As a devoted wife and involved mom to her four children Jeremy, Zachary, Molly and Jacob, Amy’s faith, family and sense of value is what gives her focus and purpose in all that she does. As a working woman and mom Amy is invested in balancing all aspects of her life including managing to navigate a hectic family life along side a very project-orientated and successful husband and family farm. She may be best known for filming her TLC phenomenon hit reality show “Little People Big World” that tells the story of her and her family for over 6 seasons of filming - 230 episodes averaging over 2.5 million viewers worldwide each year. Amy’s life has been forever changed into a media sensation. Her newfound celebrity and voice have inspired her to enact positive change in the world for kids and families globally. Amy’s life experiences and story of overcoming challenges has led to appearances on Oprah, Good Morning America, Rachel Ray Show, The View, Jay Leno and others. The New York Times, People Magazine, McCall’s, and numerous other media outlets have interviewed her.
What is most inspiring about Amy is that she has not let her own personal challenge of having achondroplasia dwarfism, a childhood illness, or being constantly looked upon as not having possibilities stop her from taking action and to keep moving forward. She has shown strength in believing in herself that she can make a difference and have success regardless of how others may see her. Amy may only be 4’ 2” but she never considered herself as having a disability. Amy has often said ‘I may be different but I can do what anyone else can do just in a different way.” Amy believes that everyone has value and purpose and can make a difference not only in their own life but others as well. She lives by example - encouraging, supporting and inspiring others to reach their potential in spite of challenges and obstacles.
Amy is thrilled to have the opportunity to reach people right where they are at and inspires them to go beyond as individuals through her stories and perspective from her own personal life. She is reaching greater heights, living an adventurous life and making a difference changing lives. We look forward to hearing from you to request Amy for an appearance or be the keynote speaker that will inspire your audience and be a part of the success of your event.
